ARMS Lecture Series season 5 gathers experts for the continued empowerment of women

The 5th season of Alumni Relations Movement to Serve (ARMS) Lecture Series gathered three resource speakers from the fields of social work, ICT and martial arts to elaborate on the theme Hugpung para sa Padayun nga Paggahum sa Kababayin-an (Gathering for the Continued Empowerment of Women).

Ms. Marietta Latonio, USPian alumna and author, lectured on Women & Human Trafficking. She elaborated the journey of trafficked women, the system that help support the recovery of these women and the preventive measure against human trafficking. 

Mr. Lester Gastala, USPF expert in information and communication technology, spoke on Women and Online Security & Safety. He introduced to the young audience the measures to take to ensure security and safety online.












Mr. Rico Maranga, USPian alumnus and eskrimador, expounded on The Art of Self-Defense: Eskrima Kali Arnis. He demonstrated strategies in ensuring safety when physically attacked by aggressors. 

Held on the 3rd of March 2016 at the Theater for the Performing Arts, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Cebu City, Philippines, ARMS season 5 was attended by basic education and college students of the University.
